Info & Files

Where can Premier Lining be used?
Premier Lining is designed for internal walls and ceilings, and for undercover external applications such as alfresco ceilings, sheltered soffits, and protected eaves.

Can this product be used in fully exposed external façades?
No. It should only be used in protected external areas that are not subject to direct weather or severe coastal, alpine, or desert exposure. For fully exposed façades, a dedicated external cladding system should be specified.

Is Premier Lining compliant for use in bushfire-prone areas?
Yes. Blackbutt and Spotted Gum can be suitable for use in BAL 29 areas under AS 3959 when installed correctly. Project-specific assessment is still required.

Is the timber termite resistant?
Yes. Blackbutt and Spotted Gum are both naturally termite resistant, which supports long-term performance in residential and commercial work.

What profiles are available?
Premier Lining is available in V-Joint at 80 x 12 mm and Shiplap at 128 x 14 mm, allowing different visual lines and joint expressions for walls and ceilings.

Do I need to coat the boards before installation?
Yes. Pentarch recommends coating all sides, including the rear and cut ends, prior to installation. Boards can also be ordered pre-oiled to save time on site.

How should the product be stored prior to installation?
Boards should be kept undercover, protected from weather, and allowed to acclimatise where required. Timber should be inspected for transit damage or defects before fixing.

Does the lining need to acclimatise?
In many environments, yes. As timber responds to local humidity and temperature, acclimatisation may be required so the boards stabilise to expected in-service moisture levels before fixing, especially in very dry or very humid locations.

How is Premier Lining fixed?
Boards can be nail fixed or nail and adhesive fixed to suitable framing. For ceilings, appropriate centre spacings and corrosion resistant fixings must be used, especially in protected external applications.

Can Premier Lining be used to create a seamless indoor to outdoor transition?
Yes. When installed internally and then continued through to an undercover alfresco ceiling or soffit, it creates a continuous visual line that connects indoor living with protected outdoor areas.
