Species

Sapwood is yellow with a red tinge, merging into pink brown or red brown heartwood. Texture is fine and even. Grain is interlocked. Pores are filled with gummy deposits. The timber is siliceous, with no distinct odour. It does not leach. Also known as Pelawan.
