Britton Timbers – Sassafras & Blackheart Sassafras

Golden sassafras is pale creamy grey to white, maturing to grey and golden tones. It is highly attractive as veneer or as solid timber, and knots often provide figure. When infected with a staining fungus, it becomes blackheart sassafras, which is distinctive dark brown or black, with green streaks through the wood. Also known as Tasmanian Sassafras and Southern Sassafras.
