Heartwood is yellowish brown with a hint of olive green. Sapwood is usually distinctly paler. Texture is moderately coarse but even. Grain is often interlocked. The timber has a greasy feel that can affect glue bonding strength. A unique feature for a eucalypt is the complete absence of gum veins.
