Heartwood is pale to light brown in colour with a pinkish tinge. Sapwood is pale yellow and usually distinguishable from the heartwood. Texture is moderately coarse but even. Grain is sometimes interlocked. Growth rings are visible but not prominent. Gum veins are common. Also known as Messmate.
