Description Also known as Burmese Teak. Grain is usually straight. Freshly cut wood can vary widely in colour but mellows with light exposure. Heartwood is golden brown, often with dark markings. Sapwood is pale yellow and clearly distinct. The wood contains a natural oil which gives it a greasy feel and a distinctive odour.
